There are numbers of words in the English language, sounds similarly but, actually they are far different from each others. That similar sounding words are called Homo-Phonic. Here, home means similar and phonic means sound. Today, I am writing many such types of words which are similar in sound but different in meaning. Many times we are mis-using them because of their sound only. I am also many time committing such types of mistakes. So, doing lots of researching such types of words from long periods. I am able to collecting many of them. Here, I am liking to providing them to you all my friends also. Please, share this article for others requirement also.
The homo-phonic words are also called as the pairs of words. Here, I am writing them with meaning also. They may be helping you for your better understanding.
1. (a) Accept:- means taking advice of others view.
Example:- I accept my friend’s proposal.
(b) Except:- Means without some body else.
Example:- All my friends except Diya present in my birthday party.
2. (a) Adapt:- Managing with a new situations.
Example:- I am adapting myself with the new family after my marriage.
(b) Adopt:- legally take.
Example:- Many parents are adopting child from the orphanage.
3. (a) Angle:- The space between two inter-setting lines.
Example:- The angle between this structure is linear.
(b) Angel:- Messenger of God
Example:- I see an beautiful angel in my dream.
4. (a) Alien:- Belonging to foreign country.
Example:- Some of my friends are alien.
(b) Align:- Arrange something in a straight line.
Example:- We must align ourselves for building our nation.
5. (a) Altar:-the table in a Christian church at which the bread and wine are consecrated in communion services.
Example:- We make offerings to the God at the altar.
(b) Alter:- change in character or composition, typically in a comparatively small but significant way.
Example: Once I take a decision, I am not like to alter it.
6. (a) Air:- means atmospheric gas.
Example: Air is filling in this bottle.
(b) Yaar:- means friend.
Example:- She is my best yaar in my life.
7. (a) Advice:-guidance or recommendations offered with regard to prudent action.
Example:- My father’s advice helping me a lot.
(b) Advise:-offer suggestions about the best course of action to someone.
Example: He advise me to write this article.
8. (a) Ail:- trouble or afflict (someone) in mind or body.
Example:- What ails me is the gentle lord?
(b) Ale:- any beer other than lager, stout, or porter.
